Custom software development for Sydney businesses.

Technology and executive leadership from Programbuilt: a Chief Technology Officer in the chair, and the commerce, finance and sales systems that scale a business, built, deployed and run by one team.

  • What do you sell?
  • How do you sell it?
  • Can you sell more?
  • Can we automate it?

Can you sell more, for less?

Built for businesses growing

Scaling from $1 million to $20 million? That is exactly where we do our best work.

We design, build and deploy the systems that automate and scale your sales and your payables.

The first problem worth solving is how to automate your sales and payables.

Programbuilt

Programbuilt is enterprise-grade commerce, finance and operations engineering: revenue engines that sell, collect and pay, run on your customer data and your own operating logic, with frontier models optimising and then automating them end to end.

AnthropicOpenAIInngestVercelNext.js

We work across trusted frontier models and the platforms your bank and your accountant already trust: Anthropic and OpenAI models running under your own operating logic, every dollar in and out on Stripe’s PCI DSS Level 1 rails with 3D Secure and Radar fraud screening, data on Google Cloud and Supabase Postgres with row-level security and encryption at rest and in transit, and the ledger kept honest in Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks through their official OAuth APIs. Nothing exotic, nothing you cannot inspect.

Those four, as one system

Can you sell more, for less?

The problem - Selling more keeps costing you more.

Whatever you sell, the walls are the same four. Count how many you are standing at.

  • You pay for software you can't drive. The big-name platform seemed like the answer. Now you pay for it every month, the team touches a tenth of it, and the business still runs on spreadsheets around it. Roughly a third of small business software spend goes to tools nobody uses.
  • Hiring is your only growth lever. The only way you know to sell more is to add another salary. Every hire brings wages and management overhead, and the profit you were chasing walks back out the door as payroll.
  • The selling is slower than the demand. You could sell more of whatever you sell tomorrow if the selling itself did not crawl. Every order still waits on a human to chase it, take the payment, raise the invoice and match it in the books.
  • The race you can't see. Nobody sends a memo when a competitor automates past you. Their checkout closes sales while yours emails a PDF, and their books close themselves while yours eat a weekend. You find out when the market tells you. Move first.

Sell more, with fewer hands on it.

The founder - Founded by an owner. Built by engineers.

Programbuilt was founded by Kevin Mack after thirteen years running a national events business on the systems it builds today. Every program starts from that seat: an owner who wanted more profit and less doing, and built the technology to get it.

We build systems that sell, take the money, and do the books.

The track record behind it: thirteen years as a CEO, growing a business on technology, a hundred and fifty shows, $60 million in revenue, and a Shopify Build A Business award in media and technology.

But the years are not what made it work. The technology is. Every year the goal was the same, make more profit and do less. So we built systems that solved the same problems once, instead of hiring people to solve them every week: the checkout, the invoices, the reconciliation, the chasing.

Sydney is the biggest commercial market in the country, and it is full of owner-led businesses whose growth outran their tooling years ago: distributors on spreadsheets, services firms invoicing by hand, retailers whose website and ledger have never met. They do not need a dev shop with a ticket queue. They need custom software built around the business, by a team senior enough to own the decisions.

Everyone shares one goal in modern business: to own a modern money-making machine. We build them.

Questions - The questions owners actually ask.

  • What kind of custom software do you build for Sydney businesses? The money path, end to end: checkouts embedded on your site, booking and sales systems that take money, and the finance behind it, invoicing, payables and reconciliation into Xero or MYOB, automated. Custom business software means the system is shaped on your business, not the other way round.
  • Why custom software instead of off-the-shelf? Off-the-shelf runs out. The subscription stack grows, the workarounds multiply, and the business ends up shaped around its tools. A custom build starts where the packages stopped: your rules, your flows, owned outright, with no per-seat rent. The scope call is where we work out which parts need to be custom.
  • Are you an agency or a dev shop? Neither. Programbuilt sits as your Chief Technology Officer and builds. An agency hands your project to whoever is free; we scope, design, build, test and hand over live, then stay to run it. Growth engineering is the work; Chief Technology Officer is the chair.
  • What does custom software development cost? Two builds, each a fixed price to a fixed scope. Light is US$3,999, delivered four weeks from your start date. Pro is US$8,499, delivered in eight. US$100 books your onboarding and comes off the price, and both builds carry a twelve-month warranty at no cost. No retainers, no day rates, no menu.
  • Do you work with Sydney businesses remotely? Yes, and in person when it matters. Programbuilt is Melbourne based, and the engagement runs through your own client portal with progress visible daily. The calls, the workshops and the handover happen on your clock; the build itself is asynchronous.
